Yey! Got my first successful pull of the body and the head of this weird wee guy. Not my sculpture but I got tasked with making a mould for him. His head and body are separate and the head in particular was a bit of a challenge as it's hollow like a bell with long dangling sticking out ears and nose and no flat surface. I wondered how on Earth I was going to do it but I do love to rise to a challenge. After much trial and error I got a good (whole!) cast with a one part mould and injecting a liquid casting material. I'm feeling I want to try one more time in a slightly different way as there are benefits and disadvantages to the two ways I've already experimented with. The body was done as a brush on mould, though its challenge was the mouth cavity with tongue. Undercuts! But it seems to have worked and I got a perfect cast in plaster. . Love it when a plan comes together!* *comedy reference for the old yins (like me) #mouldmaking #casting #success #sculpture #plaster #brushonmould #silicone #mould #weirdshapes #wheredoyouputthepourspout #learningalongtheway #teachingyourself #trialanderror #funtime #theAteam #ipitythefool via Instagram https://ift.tt/2U89Q6O
