I've been highly irresponsible and even though I don't have much funds at the moment, I decided to make the decisive executive decision to spend some of my pay from Kelburn to buy a scroll saw. In my defence, I have been researching and coveting machines for over 6 months and got a very good deal on an entry level saw.

On first experience, it cuts very nicely and does small curves well. Haven't tried a big bit of wood yet but considering I need to now build another workbench to hold it, I think it will get good use. Ooh, and think of the different blades I can try! So together with my mini table saw and my trusty, very cheap, jigsaw I'm going to be flying!

Wooden commissions of any type very welcome! Don't expect artisan carpentry though!

Between working away and my mum's broken hip, I've not been in the workshop much but back in today...Paper clay recipes from the fridge! They've had a good opportunity to fester away. The plaster one was not a surprise as it was solidifying before I even put it in there. The need for a preservative is quite important if you are planning to keep it in mouldable state for any length of time. As soon as you add water to anything there is the opportunity for bacteria to grow. Once dried fully all of them should be fine.

I've done another mask with the third recipe to see how it dries again.

I got the T-shirt! Managed to get my Rise-Up: Print Shop courtesy of Marcelo. Didn’t have the time to print mine but the sweetheart that Marcelo is did it for me. The project is a themed print shop where you can discuss a pre-determined topic, create your own slogan for your own T-shirt and print it. The one at Kelburn was for Climate change and all the anxieties that it produces. This is the tiny tiny mirror provided in my bedroom at the Air BnB. At least you can't see my gammy, midge-bitten swollen eyelid.
