Day 27 Coat So leading on from Day 26 and Batman today's prompt is Coat and it made me think of coats as capes. So here we have a super hero in training using his parent's coat as a cape. #coat #cape #capedcrusader #batman #superhero #makebelieve #pretend #play #inktober #inktober2019 #drawingaday #drawingchallenge #drawing #illustration #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/32QUh4Z

Day 26 Dark Batman popped into my head for this one. The Dark Knight himself. I'm not really a comic book gal but I do love the odd superhero movie. This also led me to an idea for the Day 27, so a bit of another doubler. #dark #darkknight #batman #comicbookart #comics #comiccharacters #superheroes #inktober #inktober2019 #drawingaday #drawingchallenge #drawing #illustration #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/2qKc5QR Day 25 Tasty Sunday catch up with a mouse eating a tasty cherry. What a brilliant time had by all at tonight's Paisley Halloween parade festival. So finally the Grande Reveal happened for The Star Project and Spinner's Gate Halloween Lollipops made especially for the Parade. I've been leading artist workshops with the groups over the last month and we made 7 Halloween Lollipops made from willow, cardboard, fluorescent paint and UV strip LED lights and they looked awesome. Thanks to Star Project for all the fun and dancing and Cirque Bijou for a great show. They were talking on the radio about vertigo recently and the differences of what dizziness means to people. Some people think being dizzy is lightheadedness, some that the world is spinning around them even though they're not moving. I don't mind heights generally but I do remember being up the top of a very tall ladder, setting stage lights that were on a gently swinging fly bar. Even though I was on a very steady ladder and was holding on securely, I couldn't help but feel like the world was trembling ever so slightly and that I could be compelled to topple off my perch very easily. It was not a pleasant experience. #dizzy #tremble #wobble #spin #outofcontrol #inktober #inktober2019 #drawingaday #drawingchallenge #drawing #illustration #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/2PhQ3iU OMG! With all the Halloween Lollipops madness, I've neglected to tell you all about my collaborating with fabulous fellow artist Karen Bones on a mural for Bill the Biker's garage in Alexandra Parade. He gave us carte blanche to do what we liked and so Bill being the old Goth that he is and Karen being the old Goth that she is, we came up with an industrial motif. Very suited to a garage. Boring old flat chipboard to Total Recall meets back alley meets rusty old bucket. Really enjoyed doing it, was a lot of fun and I think it looks pretty cool. You can't see it very well in the pic but I even put bullet holes in the "metal" Danger sign. Not real ones of course! Anyone else needing a mural, give us a shout. It doesn't need to look like a back alley, we can do unicorns too, even though Karen might grumble a bit. She's a rainbow unicorn in her black Goth heart really. #mural #billthebiker #garage #garagemural #goth #industrial #gothindustrial #trompeloeil #painting #paint #backalley #totalrecall #alexandraparade #glasgow #bikeshop #bikegarage #making #madebyme #maker #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/2BRRWuN Holy Smokes what a fabulous morning! Been such a pleasure working with everyone at The Star Project and Spinners Gate (special thanks SG guys for my chocs and card). Thank you all so much for having me and thanks to Ceri and Cirque Bijou for making it happen. The Grand Reveal will be happening in Paisley for the Halloween Parade from 6.30pm this Saturday. If you're roun' aboots come and gie us a wave. @paisleystarproject @paisley.is @paisleyhalloweenfestival @cirquebijou #paisleyhalloweenfestival #paisleyhalloweenparade #paisleyhalloweenfestival2019 #paisley #thestarproject #spinnersgate #lollipops #halloweenparade #halloweenprops ##making #propmaking #propmaker #props #makeit #makingit #modelmaker #maker #modelmaking #art #artist #outdoor #outdoortheatre #theatre #community #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/2pS2Pdi Day 23 - Ancient Ancient is kinda how I'm feeling right now after another long day but soon I will have a day off. This ancient and wise chap popped in my head because of today's one and only nice news story about the selection of Scotland's tree of the year. It's a lone elm tree called the Last Ent, somewhere near Elgin. The name coming from Lord of the Rings, I thought it rather lovely and made me think of wizards. So here is one with a couple of pals. #ancient #wizard #lordoftherings #thelastent #jrrtolkien #wizardry #inktober #inktober2019 #drawingaday #drawingchallenge #drawing #illustration #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/2PfZO0O Day 23 Ghost Ok after the last post's essay I'm all typed out. I can't even think of any good hashtags. . Here's a ghost, a bit half-assed but it's late and I'm tired but at least I've caught up. #ghost #inktober #inktober2019 #drawingaday #drawingchallenge #drawing #illustration #art #artist #jenkilgour #pigsticks #pigsticksp #pigsticksproductions via Instagram https://ift.tt/35ZDApG Day 21 - Treasure I was trying to think what would I consider a treasure? What would I save if my house was on fire? Though there are some trinkets and knick knacks that I would rather not see destroyed there probably isn't anything I would dive back into the flames for. Apart from my family of course. This would include all our family dogs. Our first dog was Biddy, a very scrappy Jack Russell who chased every car down the road that passed our house. It was an estate in the early 80s and so not too busy. I don't remember much about her except she guarded the fire in the sitting room and wouldn';t let anyone near it if she was toasting her paws. She probably wasn't a very good dog but I have fond memories such as they are. There were various hamsters and guinea pigs and some cats; they all got lost or run over or occasionally died of natural causes but it was always the dogs that I liked best. Sorry cat lovers, dogs are better. FACT! Anyway, our second family dog was Sandy. This is my interpretation of me as a wean with Sandy as a puppy. I had a ridiculously big fringe thanks to my mum's hair cutting skills that I eventually grew out by aged 15 after puberty made my hair go curly. Sandy was a golden Labrador, yes I know we weren't very original with the name, give us a break I was about 6 or 7. Sandy was wily, not a very good pedigree and used to run away all the time, coming back at dinner time usually covered in shit. She was a wonderful dog. She would sleep with me at night time and go right under the covers, coorying in so close, only emerging when she got too hot. She'd run up the hills forever and always want to run more. She ate everything. We had to run to the door when the newspaper was delivered (they used to do that y'know) before she got there or she'd rip it to pieces in an angry frenzy. She would bark at everyone anywhere near her territory. If you were upset she'd sit beside you in sympathy, eyes closed, head nestled next to yours, until you felt better. She got to the ripe old age of 15 and we'll never forget her. After Sandy there was Brodie and of course Daisy who we still have, but their stories are for another time. via Instagram https://ift.tt/2qxxPiN |
