Box bottom anyone? Been making and army of little waterproof pouches. Is it weird that I really like sewing small things? Oddly satisfying. I also discovered if I tape down a strip of gaffa with the sticky side up, it's awesome for holding all the little thread offcuts. Don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. I always get covered in them.

Can't really show you all what I've been working on as it will spoil the surprise but my need to show off is impossible to avoid. This is the compromise. A clue is it's to do with Halloween and it's going well now, after quite a few hurdles were sailed over with aplomb and a pinch big level of stress. I was actually quite good at hurdling at school. Don't know why I didn't take it up. Stay tuned!

Pondering post...

I was sitting having my breakfast and pondering the sausage dog photo on my living room wall. I took it, shooting from the hip, on a street somewhere in Italy in 2001. It's fuzzy, candid and I really like it. Yes, because it has a dog in it but also because of it's jaunty angle. I always look at it across from my table but today I noticed something new. The couple in the background (with their shadows) are walking in unison. Their feet are perfectly aligned. Their upper bodies are not. They are not holding hands or looking in the same direction, let alone making eye contact. They may not have been a couple or even know each other...but the feet! The feet tell a different story.

I like that I can have images or objects for such a long time, they are literally part of the furniture but they still offer up new discoveries.

Had a visit to my friend Stephen's workplace for some cheeky free cardboard and also came back with a sliced end of the centre of a giant paper roll. A bit like a toilet roll innard but massive! Perfect for shaping my smaller withie circles. Cheers Stephen!

Geddit wicker for Wicca?....Aw jeez, tough audience.

I need large circles but don't have something suitable to bend my withies round so a sharpie scrawled circle on the floor and tape will have to do. Successfully bendy withies after a week in the bath though. No idea how long it will take for them to dry but I guess we'll see!

See this here? This here is a dry table after an over night water-filled withie bath! SUCCESS! No drips no puddles, no wet patches. Oo-er missus! Dry as a bone..

​Have abandoned the bung hole idea for now. New plastic membrane but was a little concerned as said plastic had a couple of tiny holes but a bit of gaffa seems to have solidified that problem. Huzzah! Withies now deeply submerged.
