La Sumera e L'Unicorn is getting big love and looking lush in her greenery. I made this beastie on the Riu d'Art residency in Catalonia in 2017. Had the most wonderful time sweating buckets, welding in 30+C heat and confusing many a Riba Roja villager as to why there was a woman in the metal workshop. Got a marvellous response in the end. La Sumera is Catalonian for female donkey and L'Unicorn is well...unicorn as you may have guessed. They are the respective national animals of Catalonia and Scotland and represent a commonality between the two places.
